Mecca Masjid blast accused brought to Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Even as the entire nation's focus is on the recent twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar, National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths sprang a surprise and brought Rajender Chaudhary alias Samundar, an accused in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast, to the city on Saturday night.
Rajender, who has been lodged at the Panchkula jail for his alleged involvement in the Samjautha Express blast case, was brought to the city on a prison transit (PT) warrant. Rajender was taken to the residence of the magistrate, NIA court, but the sleuths were directed to produce him in Nampally court on Monday.
On Sunday afternoon, news channels were agog with rumours about NIA officials bringing a person to their office in Begumpet in connection with the Dilsukhnagar blast based on information given by Maqbool, but it turned out to be Rajender. Later, NIA officials denied reports about picking up any person in connection with the twin blasts.
