Mecca Masjid- Ajmer Blast Cases- The Real Culprits Coming TO Fore!
Do we anymore need to worry about the so-called Islamic Terrorism only or is a reorientation of the approach towards identifying Terrorism as simply The Most Heinous Crime Against Humanity needed?

The arrest of two suspects on April 30th, Devendra Gupta and Chandra Shekhar and detention of Vishnu Patidar, in the 2007 Ajmer Shrine Blasts by the Rajasthan anti-terrorism squad (ATS) and further investigations in Hyderabad related to Mecca Masjid Blast, has brought the role and sincerity of the Police, specifically the ATS, and that of the RSS into question.
This arrest and further investigations, reportedly states that the ATS was aware since 'November 2008' that it was the Abhinav Bharat that has carried out the Malegaon, Ajmer, Hyderabad terror attacks or at least all these attacks were having common links in between them and a deep conspiracy was at play.
Maharashtra ATS had in November 2008 found the link between Lt Col. Prasad Purohit, the prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast, and the blast in Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid. But the ATS officials were instructed to not make it public as the Hyderabad Police had already arrested suspects belonging to the Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HuJI). They even had sensed a common link to the Ajmer Shrine Blast as well.
During interrogations back in 2008, Purohit had told the ATS that he had provided the RDX used in the Mecca Masjid blast. "The Maharashtra ATS had told the Hyderabad police about Purohit's suspected involvement in the blast, but the Hyderabad police did not show interest in seeking Purohit's custody,'' said an officer who was part of Maharashtra ATS team that probed the Malegaon blast case. "We had also recovered RDX from Purohit's Pune home. It was then that Purohit admitted to keeping RDX at his place,'' the officer added.
Gupta, one of the arrested suspects is said to be a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). And the same Gupta is said to be linked to Sunil Joshi, the Madhya Pradesh man to whom Sadhvi Pragyasingh Thakur claimed she had sold the motorbike used to plant the Malegaon bomb. Joshi had introduced Ramnarayan Kalsangra, the alleged planter of the bomb, to Devendra Gupta. Joshi was mysteriously killed in December 2007.
The Maharashtra ATS had submitted a CD in the court which allegedly showed Purohit saying that his group had executed two more operations in the country. Sleuths believe that Purohit was referring to the blasts in Ajmer and Hyderabad.
Maharashtra ATS had also claimed that Purohit supplied RDX for the Samjahuta Express Blast as well. This led the CBI to investigate the connections between Mecca Masjid and the Samjhauta Express Blast. Now the CBI which had earlier interrogated both Thakur and Purohit is now grilling Gupta and Patidar.
The biggest connection between the blasts on the Samjhauta Express and the one in Macca Masjid was that the safety switch mechanism on both sets of explosives were similar.
Moreover, the forensic experts have confirmed that the bombs used in the Mecca Masjid blasts were serially numbered 1 and 2 and that the bombs used in the Ajmer dargah blasts were numbered 3 and 4. There are striking similarities in the make of the bombs used in both places and a cellphone alarm was used to trigger both explosions. Experts confirmed that black boxes were used to place cylindrical iron case bombs stuffed with RDX in both the Mecca Masjid and Ajmer blasts.
Indore is greatly emerging as the abode for all these conspiracies. When Pragya Thakur was found to own the Bike used in the Malegaon Blast, she fled to Indore. Gupta belongs to the same city as his identity proves from the SIM cards he used in the two 2007 blast. In the Malegaon blast too, the SIM card operations were allegedly taken care of by Indore-based Ramnarayan Kalsangra alias Ramji, who is also accused of having made the bomb in Nashik. The Maharashtra ATS has always maintained that the foot-soldiers in all conspiracy were essentially from two base camps, operating under Hindutva-preaching NGOs based out of Pune and Indore.
It should also be noted that every time a suspect's name emerged, the suspect would flee to the safety of the Dangs, Gujarat's tribal region, where the Maharashtra ATS had camped to track another suspect, Swami Asimanand in October 2008. Last week, the teams probing the Ajmer blast landed in the Dangs. And Asimanand is once again believed to have given them the slip. Rajasthan Home Minister Shanti Dhariwal said police were on the lookout for Swami Asminanand of the Dangs, suspected to have masterminded the Ajmer blast.
When the CBI team investigating the Mecca Masjid blast visited Nashik jail to question Purohit and Pragya recently, it was not the first time that an agency investigating another blast in the country had come to talk to them. A Rajasthan Police team had come to question them much earlier, in 2009, to find out if the Ajmer blast, the Mecca Masjid blast and even possibly the Samjhauta Express blast had anything in common.
Seeking their custody, investigating agencies had informed the Nashik Chief Judicial Magistrate court that "a series of meetings" had taken place between Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and retired Major Ramesh Upadhyay, also an accused in the Malegaon blast, which needs to be further probed. The remand also speaks of meetings between the Sadhvi, Sameer Kulkarni and Upadhyay, in Indore, along with an important meeting that took place on April 16, 2008, at Bhonsale Military School in Nashik.
In the midst of all of these investigations, it was the Muslim Youth who had to bear the brunt. After the Mecca Masjid Blast, like all other cases, fingers were pointed to the involvement of HuJI and SIMI. Thereafter, sevarl Muslim youths were taken into custody. In total 21 Muslims were arrested. However, they were acquitted later because of lack of evidence.
A fact-finding team of the state minorities commission, in its report, had said that the detainees were made to strip, were physically abused and given electric shocks on their private parts. Though the Andhra Pradesh Government had then awarded compensation to all the arrested and later acquitted people, but the mark had already been made on their forehead which refused them acceptability in any job and service. Some among those arrested refused the compensation saying that if the government was so sincere they should take back the cases filed against them as these are the biggest stumbling blocks for their future.
It is shocking as how the police do not take time in arresting Muslim youth even when they do not have evidence but spend years in make any case against the Hindu Extremists. It is applaudable that the Police, even though, after three years, has made a break through in these cases. But what about the Muslim youths and their future, whom they arrest on baseless grounds?
Should Muslims now raise their concern terming Indore as the breeding ground for all Hindu terrorists? Should now headlines run with "Hindu" attached to terrorist and terrorism?
Of course NOT! Neither is it acceptable to malign Hindus and Hinduism nor to defame Muslim of Islam. We have to fight terrorism which has no religion! Maligning religion specifically would only perpetrate further crimes.
Thus, it is now expected that the state as well as Central Government would order an unbiased probe and overlook the investigations to ensure that no more conspiracies of "cover ups" are hatched in the middle of all these investigations. At the same time it is expected that now the police and government would think twice before defaming any organization or individuals for any crime just because they bear an Islamic name.
