Here's how you can solve it
During the course of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections on Tuesday, thousands of citizens, much to their dismay, found themselves unable to exercise their voting rights as their names were not on the voters’ list.
A senior official with the State Election Commission said that this could have happened for a number of reasons. He said, “During the BMC, we [the State Election Commission] only borrowed the voters’ list from the Election Commission of India. A draft electoral roll was released last year in September and there was a summary revision period of one month to file claims and objections.” However, the missing names in the electoral roll will need to be added by the voters as the case may be, he added.
The Hindu has put together a list of frequently asked questions to help you with the process.
How can one get registered on the voters list?
