ఇరవై-ముప్పై మంది మగాళ్లు బృందాలుగా సంచరిస్తుంటారు! ఒంటరిగా కనిపించే అమ్మాయిలే వారి లక్ష్యం!! కంటికి నదురుగా కనిపించిన అమ్మాయి గుంపులో ఉన్నా ఇబ్బంది లేదు. ఆ 20-30 మందీ నాలుగైదు గ్రూపులుగా విడిపోయి అమ్మాయిని ఒక పక్కకు వెళ్లేలాగా చేస్తూ పక్కా ప్లాన్‌ ప్రకారం ఆమె పక్కన నడుస్తారు. వారికి భయపడి అమ్మాయి.. రోడ్డుకు ఒక వారగా వెళ్లిపోతుంది. అంతే.. ఇక సామూహిక వేధింపు మొదలవుతుంది. ఆ మగాళ్లంతా ఆకలిగొన్న తోడేళ్లలా ఆమెను చుట్టుముడతారు. చేతిలో ఉన్న పర్సో, హ్యాండ్‌బ్యాగో, డబ్బులే లాగేస్తారు. వాటిని అడ్డుకునే లోపల మరో నాలుగు చేతులు ఆమె ఒంటిపై పడతాయి. ఆ చేతులను తోసేసేలోపే మరో నాలుగు చేతులు వెనక నుంచి ఆక్రమించుకుంటాయి. ఒళ్లంతా ఆబగా తడుముతాయి. ఆమె ఒంటిపైనున్న దుస్తులను చింపేస్తాయి. ఇదంతా రోడ్డు మీద వెళ్లేవారికి కనపడకుండా ఆ బృందంలోనే కొందరు లోపల ఉన్నవారికి రక్షణ వలయంగా నిలబడతారు. అమ్మాయి అరుపులు బయటకు వినపడకుండా పెద్దగా అరుస్తూ కేకలు పెడుతుంటారు. ఐదు పది నిమిషాల నుంచి దాదాపు గంట దాకా కూడా ఈ సామూహిక దారుణం కొనసాగుతుంది. కొందరు అమ్మాయిలు వేధింపులతోనే బయటపడితే.. మరికొందరు సామూహిక అత్యాచారానికి బలైపోతారు!! ఈ వికృత క్రీడ పేరు.. తహర్రష్‌! 

ఈజిప్టులో మొదలై.. 

ఈజిప్టులో 2005 నుంచి బాగా పాపులర్‌ అయిన సామూహిక లైంగిక వేధింపుల దాడి ఆట. 2012లో ఈజిప్టు రాజధాని కైరోలోని సుప్రసిద్ధ తాహ్రిర్‌ స్క్వేర్‌లో రాజకీయ నిరసన ప్రదర్శనలు జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. అప్పట్లో అమెరికన్‌, డచ్‌ మహిళా జర్నలిస్టులపై కొందరు దుర్మార్గులు సాగించిన ఈ సామూహిక దాడి గురించి ఆ పాత్రికేయుల ద్వారా ప్రపంచానికి తెలిసింది!! మళ్లీ ఇప్పుడు జర్మనీలో అమ్మాయిలను వణికిస్తోంది. అరబ్‌, ఆఫ్రికా దేశాల నుంచి వలస వస్తున్న ముస్లిం శరణార్థులకు రెండు చేతులా ఆహ్వానం పలుకుతున్న జర్మన్‌ చాన్స్‌లర్‌ ఏంజెలా మెర్కెల్‌ పదవికే ఎసరు పెడుతోంది. ఈ ఏడాది తొలిరోజునే జర్మనీలో ‘తహర్ర్‌ష’కు బీజం పడింది. నూతన సంవత్సర వేడుకల సందర్భంగా జర్మనీలోని కొలోన్‌ నగరంలో సంబరాల్లో మునిగిన అమ్మాయిలను టార్గెట్‌గా చేసుకుని దాదాపు 500 మంది కుర్రాళ్లు సామూహిక వేధింపుల పర్వానికి తెర తీశారు. దీనికి సంబంధించి 516 కేసులు నమోదయ్యాయి. అలాగే.. హ్యాంబర్గ్‌, ఫ్రాంక్‌ఫర్ట్‌, డార్ట్‌మండ్‌, డస్సెల్‌డోర్ఫ్‌, స్టట్‌గార్ట్‌ తదితర నగరాల్లో పలువురు మహిళలు ఇదే తరహా లైంగిక దాడికి గురయ్యారు. ఈ దారుణాలకు పాల్పడింది అరబ్‌, ఆఫ్రికా దేశాల కుర్రాళ్లేనని ప్రాథమిక విచారణలో తేలింది.

 

కొలోన్‌ దాడుల కేసులో 30 మంది కుర్రాళ్లను అరెస్టు చేయగా.. వారిలో 15 మంది జర్మనీకి ఇటీవలే వలస వచ్చిన శరణార్థులుగా తేలింది. అయితే.. ఈ వార్తలను ప్రచురించడం వల్ల శరణార్థులపై వ్యతిరేకత పెరిగిపోతుంది, జాతుల మధ్య ఘర్షణగా మారుతుందన్న ఉద్దేశంతో జర్మన్‌ మీడియా తొలుత ఈ ఘటనల గురించి ప్రముఖంగా ప్రచురించలేదు. కానీ, సోషల్‌ మీడియాలో యువత జరిగిన దారుణాల గురించి పోస్టులు పెట్టడంతో ప్రపంచానికి తెలిసింది. దీంతో, మీడియా కూడా ఈ దాడుల గురించి ప్రచురించక తప్పలేదు. ఇలా బిబి విల్‌హైల్మ్‌ అనే జర్మన్‌ టీనేజర్‌ యూట్యూబ్‌లో పెట్టిన 20 నిమిషాల వీడియో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా పాపులర్‌ అయింది. ‘‘జర్మనీ వీధుల్లో మాలాంటి అమ్మాయిల జీవితాలకు రక్షణ లేకుండా పోయింది. మునుపటి జర్మన్‌ జీవితాన్ని అనుభవించే వీల్లేకపోయింది. మాకు మా పాత జీవితం కావాలి’’ అంటూ ఆమె పెట్టిన వీడియో రాత్రికిరాత్రి వైరల్‌గా షేర్‌ అయింది. ‘అరబ్‌ రేప్‌ గేమ్‌ తహర్రష్‌ యూర్‌పలోకి ప్రవేశించింద’టూ జర్మన్‌ పత్రిక డైవెల్ట్‌ ప్రముఖంగా ప్రచురించింది. పెరుగుతున్న తహర్రష్‌ ఘటనల నేపథ్యంలో స్లోవేకియా, చెక్‌ రిపబ్లిక్‌ ప్రభుత్వాలు అత్యవసరంగా యూరోపియన్‌ యూనియన్‌ సమావేశాన్ని నిర్వహించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చాయి. కాందిశీకులను పెద్దమనసుతో ఆదుకోవాలంటూ ఏంజెలా మెర్కెల్‌ 2015లో 11 లక్షల మంది శరణార్థులను అరబ్‌, ఆఫ్రికా దేశాల నుంచి జర్మనీలోకి అడుగుపెట్టేందుకు అంగీకరించడమే ఇందుకు కారణమని జర్మన్లు మండిపడుతున్నారు.

 

మెర్కెల్‌పై ఒత్తిడి..

శరణార్థుల నుంచి జర్మన్‌ మహిళలకు రోజురోజుకూ రక్షణ లేకపోతుండడంతో జర్మన్‌ చాన్స్‌లర్‌ ఏంజెలా మెర్కెల్‌పై ఆ దేశ ప్రజల్లో తీవ్ర వ్యతిరేకత వ్యక్తమవుతోంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో.. ఫోకస్‌ అనే న్యూస్‌ మేగజైన్‌ నిర్వహించిన ఒపీనియన్‌పోల్‌లో 40 శాతం మంది.. 2005 నుంచి అధికారంలో ఉన్న మెర్కెల్‌ ఇక పదవి నుంచి వైదొలగాలని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. అయితే.. అదే సమయంలో 45 శాతం మంది ఆమెకు మద్దతునిచ్చారు. ఈ పోల్‌లో మెర్కెలాకు మద్దతునిచ్చినవారి సంఖ్యే ఎక్కువగా కనపడొచ్చుగానీ.. ఒకప్పుడు ఆ 40శాతం మంది కూడా మెర్కెలా మద్దతుదారులే కావడం పరిస్థితిలో మార్పునకు అద్దం పడుతోంది. అంతేకాదు.. మెర్కెల్‌ను వ్యతిరేకించినవారిలో 27శాతం సొంతపార్టీ వారే కావడం గమనార్హం. వచ్చే మార్చిలో జరగనున్న ఎన్నికల నేపథ్యంలో ఒత్తిడి పెరుగుతుండడంతో మెర్కెలా.. జర్మనీలోకి శరణార్థుల రాకకు సంబంధించిన విధానాలను మరింత కట్టుదిట్టం చేసేందుకు అంగీకరించారు. గురువారం ఇందుకు సంబంధించి ఒక ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకున్నారు.

 

ఈ కొత్త ఒప్పందం వల్ల సిరియా తదితర దేశాల నుంచి వచ్చే ముస్లిం శరణార్థులకు జర్మనీలోకి అంత సులభంగా ప్రవేశం దొరకదు. ఇప్పటికే జర్మనీలో కాందిశీకులుగా ఉంటున్నవారు తమ బంధువులను ఆయా దేశాల నుంచి ఇదివరకటిలాగా తేలిగ్గా తెచ్చుకోలేరు. అలాగే.. ఇన్నాళ్లుగా శరణార్థులను వారివారి దేశాలకు డీపోర్ట్‌ చేస్తే అక్కడ వారిని చంపేస్తారేమోననే భయంతో తిరిగి పంపించట్లేదు. కానీ, తాజా ఒప్పందం ప్రకారం మొరాకో, అల్జీరియా, ట్యునీసియా దేశాలను రక్షణ గల దేశాలుగా ప్రకటించడంతో ఆయా దేశాల శరణార్థులను సులభంగా పంపేయవచ్చు.

ఇస్లామాబాద్: పాకిస్థాన్‌లో నివసిస్తున్న లక్షలాది మంది హిందువుల కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా హిందూ వివాహ చట్టం లాంటిదేమీ లేదని, దీనివల్ల వారు చాలా ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నారని పాకిస్థాన్‌లోని ప్రముఖ దినపత్రిక డాన్ తన ఎడిటోరియల్‌లో పేర్కొంది. హిందూ మ్యారేజ్ బిల్‌పై రాసిన సంపాదకీయంలో డాన్ పలు విషయాలు పేర్కొంది. పాకిస్థాన్‌లోని మైనర్టీలకు అది చేస్తాం, ఇది చేస్తాం అని రాజకీయ నాయకులు బోలెడన్ని హామీలు ఇస్తున్నారని, కానీ వాస్తవంలోకి వచ్చేసరికి ఒక్కటి కూడా అమలు జరగడం లేదని, ఇందుకు ఉదాహరణ హిందూ వివాహ చట్టమేనని పేర్కొంది. ‘‘ఇక ప్రస్తుతానికి వస్తే పాకిస్థాన్‌లో నివసిస్తున్న లక్షలాదిమంది హిందువుల కోసం ప్రత్యేక వివాహ చట్టం లేదు. దీనివల్ల పలు సమస్యలు వస్తున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా మహిళలు చాలా ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కోవాల్సి వస్తోంది’’ అని రాసింది.

 

చట్టం లేని కారణంగా పురుషులతో తమ సంబంధ బాంధ్యవ్యాలను నిరూపించుకోవాల్సి రావడం మహిళలకు కష్టంగా మారిందని, ముఖ్యంగా భర్తలను కోల్పోయిన మహిళలు మరిన్ని సమస్యలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారని డాన్ పేర్కొంది. ప్రభుత్వంతో ఏవైనా పనులు ఏర్పడినప్పుడు, బ్యాంకులో ఖాతాలు తెరిచే సమయంలో, వీసా కోసం దరఖాస్తు చేసేటప్పుడు తమ బంధాలకు(రిలేషన్) సంబంధించి అధికారిక ధృవపత్రాలు అక్కడి హిందువులు సమర్పించడం దాదాపు అసాధ్యంగా మారింది. ఇన్ని సమస్యలను హిందువులు ఎలా భరిస్తున్నారంటూ డాన్ పత్రిక ఆశ్చర్యం వెలిబుచ్చింది.

 

ధ్రువపత్రాలు లేకపోవడానికి బలవంతపు మార్పిడులు కూడా ఒక కారణమని కొందరు మేధావులు అభిప్రాయపడినట్టు పేర్కొంది. బుధవారం ఇస్లామాబాద్‌లో నేషనల్ అసెంబ్లీస్ స్టాండింగ్ కమిటీ ఆన్ లా అండ్ జస్టిస్ చైర్మన్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించిన సెమినార్‌లో హిందూ వివాహ చట్టం, వారి సమస్యలపై ప్రస్తావించారు. హిందూ వివాహ చట్టాన్ని ఈ కమిటీ ఆమోదించాల్సి ఉంది. అయితే ఇందుకోసం వారిని ఒప్పించడం చైర్మన్‌కు కష్టతరంగా మారింది. ‘‘హిందూ వివాహచట్టాన్ని అమలు చేయాలని సుప్రీంకోర్టు ఆదేశించినా చట్టసభ దానిని అమలు చేయలేకపోయింది’’ అని డాన్ పేర్కొంది.

 

హిందూ వివాహ చట్టంపై బలూచిస్థాన్, ఖైబర్ పఖ్తున్‌ఖ్వా తీర్మానాలు చేసినా సింధ్, పంజాబ్ ఇంతవరకు దీనిపై పట్టించుకోలేదు. ఈ విషయంలో నిర్లక్ష్యం, రాజకీయ సంకల్పం లేకపోవడం సమర్థించరానిదని పత్రిక తప్పుబట్టింది. సింధ్ పంజాబ్ ప్రావిన్స్‌లోని ప్రముఖ రాజకీయ పార్టీలు మైనార్టీ హక్కులపై గట్టిగా పోరాడితే ప్రభుత్వంతో తీర్మానాలు పెట్టించడం అంత కష్టమేమీ కాదని పేర్కొంది. పాకిస్థాన్‌లో ఉన్న హిందువుల్లో ఎక్కువ శాతం మంది సింధులోనే నివసిస్తున్నారు. తప్పిదాలను సరిదిద్దుకుని త్వరగా చట్టాన్ని తీసుకొస్తే దేశంలో దశాబ్దాలుగా కొనసాగుతున్న వివక్షకు తెరపడుతుందని డాన్ పేర్కొంది.

ముంబై : ముస్లిం మహిళలు కూడా చైతన్యవంతులయ్యారు. నగరంలోని హాజీ అలీ దర్గాలోకి తమకు ప్రవేశం కల్పించాలంటూ గురువారం ఆందోళన నిర్వహించారు. ఈ దర్గాకు రోజూ వందలాదిమంది భక్తులు వస్తూ ఉంటారు. ప్రార్థనా స్థలంలోపలికి మహిళలను అనుమతించాలంటూ కొందరు ముస్లిం మహిళా నిరసనకారులు ధర్నా చేశారు. మహిళలపై ఆంక్షలు విధిస్తున్నది మతం కాదని, పురుషాధిక్యత అని ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఇస్లాం సిద్ధాంతాలకు ఇది వ్యతిరేకమని, రాజ్యాంగం ప్రకారం అందరికీ సమాన హక్కులు ఉన్నాయని, రాజ్యాంగాన్ని ఇస్లాం సమర్థిస్తోందని పేర్కొన్నారు.ఈ దర్గా ట్రస్ట్‌పై ముస్లిం మహిళల హక్కుల సంఘం బోంబే హైకోర్టులో కేసు దాఖలు చేసింది. దీనిపై ఈ నెల 18న విచారణ జరిపిన హైకోర్టు స్పందిస్తూ శబరిమల దేవాలయంలో మహిళల ప్రవేశానికి అనుమతి గురించి సుప్రీంకోర్టు అభిప్రాయం వెలువడే వరకు వేచి చూస్తామని ప్రకటించింది.

శని శింగణాపూర్‌లోని శనీశ్వర దేవాలయంలో మహిళలకు ప్రవేశంపై విధిస్తున్న నిషేధాన్ని ఎత్తేయాలంటూ ఇటీవలే కొందరు మహిళా భక్తులు ఆందోళన చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. వారు దేవాలయంలోకి ప్రవేశించకుండా పోలీసులు అడ్డుకున్నారు. అయితే ముఖ్యమంత్రి దేవేంద్ర ఫడ్నవిస్ స్పందిస్తూ దేవాలయ ట్రస్టు అధికారులు, మహిళలు కలిసి సరైన పరిష్కారం కనుగొనాలని కోరారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే ముస్లిం మహిళలు కూడా తమ హక్కుల కోసం పోరాడుతున్నారు.

అహ్మద్ నగర్: శని దేవాలయంలో మహిళల ప్రవేశంపై ఒకవైపు వివాదం కొనసాగుతూ ఉండగానే మధ్యప్రదేశ్ హోంమంత్రి వివాదాస్పద వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. మహిళలు ఇంట్లో ఉండి పూజలు  చేసుకోవాలంటూ బాబూలాల్ గౌర్ వ్యాఖ్యానించడం సంచలనం  రేపింది. శుక్రవారం మీడియాతో మాట్లాడిన ఆయన మరోసారి నోరుజారారు. మహిళలు తమ ఇళ్లలోనే ప్రార్థనలు చేసుకోవచ్చన్నారు. మంత్రి గారి వ్యాఖ్యలు  మరింత అగ్గిని రాజేశాయి.

పలువురు హిందూ గురువులు మహిళలకు ఆలయ ప్రవేశంపై సానుకూలంగా స్పందించారు. ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువు రవిశంకర్, ఆకార పరిషత్తు ప్రధాన మహంతు నరేంద్ర గిరి మహిళలకు మద్దతుగా నిలిచారు. కులం, జాతి, లైంగికత్వం ఆధారంగా దేవాలయంలోకి వ్యక్తుల ప్రవేశాన్ని నిరోధించజాలమన్నారు.

కాగా శని శింగణాపూర్‌లోని శనీశ్వరాలయంలోకి ఇటీవల ఓ మహిళ ప్రవేశించడానికి ప్రయత్నించడంతో రగడ మొదలైంది. దీనిని కొందరు మహిళలు, సామాజిక కార్యకర్తలు వ్యతిరేకిస్తున్నారు. భారత రాజ్యాంగం ప్రకారం స్త్రీ, పురుషులకు సమాన హక్కులు ఉన్నాయని, ఇది మహిళల హక్కులకు సంబంధించిన వ్యవహారమని స్పష్టం చేశారు. శని శింగణాపూర్ ఆలయంలోకి గత ఆరు దశాబ్దాలుగా మహిళలను అనుమతించడం లేదు. కాగా, మంత్రి బాబూలాల్ గౌర్ మాత్రం.. గతంలో కూడా మహిళలపై అత్యాచారాల విషయంలో అనుచిత వ్యాఖ్యలు చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.

Indonesian constitution don't recognize all religion is secular sense The government recognizes only six official religions (Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism).[4][5][6] Although based on data collected by the Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP), there are about 245 non-official religions in Indonesia

The constitution of Indonesia don't recognize any religion until they proclaim that they believe in monotheism. If some people or religion have belief in polytheism than it is not recognized in Indonesia. For that reason Animists are bound to declare themselves as Hindus [Hindu priests there have declared Hinduism to be Monotheistic belief]

Buddhists are mandated to declare themselves as Monotheists 

Buddhism is a non theistic religion but for the sake of recognition they also have to declare themselves as Monotheists. See the following extract from Wiki 

"Following the downfall of President Sukarno in the mid-1960s, Pancasila was reasserted as the official Indonesian policy on religion to only recognise monotheism .[40] As a result, founder of Perbuddhi (Indonesian Buddhists Organisation), Bhikku Ashin Jinarakkhita, proposed that there was a single supreme deity, Sang Hyang Adi Buddha."

For some years in between Indonesia banned Chinese religions and Atheism is not recognized. Ahmaddiyahs as usual are discriminated. 

Salafis are now entering Indonesia and it will not be long before they radicalize the general liberal outlook of Indonesians and arabize the Indian languages sounding names of malls, streets etc

Only good example I can think of is Turkey and the main credit goes to great "Mustafa Kemel Atraturk"

India’s Muslim leadership (political, social, religious) seems caught in a bind – even a time warp – making it akin to a species bound towards extinction. Fascinated by selfcreated narratives of victimhood and marginalisation, the community leadership is rarely able to empathise with other similarly marginalised groups – dalits, tribals, women, the poor of all castes and faith communities that make up a distinct category in themselves.
One remembers the great Urdu poet Ghalib’s couplet: Rakhio Ghalib mujhe is talkh nawai me ma’af/ aaj kuchh dard mere dil mein sawa hota hai (Pardon me for this unpleasant talk, Ghalib/ today I have severe pain in my heart).
The “severe pain in my heart” is caused by the cold indifference of the faith community’s leaders over the death of Rohith Vemula, a bright dalit scholar at the University of Hyderabad. His avoidable death was planned in a Machiavellian fashion by some ghoulish minds. Only technically was it a suicide.
By talking about the lukewarm response of the Muslim leadership one is not denying that a very small segment of it has shown solidarity with people protesting Rohith’s death. But the general perception among common Muslims is that they are the most discriminated against, marginalised and oppressed group in the country. Sociologist Imtiaz Ahmed recently said – during a talk in Jamia Nagar, Delhi – that this was not the whole truth and several other groups share these difficulties with Muslims.
The silence of Muslim leaders from mainstream political parties on this issue is understandable as they generally are bound to follow the party line. But what is stopping Muslim organisations, community/ religious leaders, activists, intellectuals from taking a position on issues of national importance? Why don’t they get involved in the struggle for larger causes?
Former foreign minister Salman Khurshid writes, in his book At Home in India: The Muslim Saga, “I have always strongly believed that political leaders from the minority communities need to speak on issues that concern the majority community or on those at least that can be described to be of relevance beyond their own communities. It is important for our democracy that in theory and in practical terms Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs or others be seen as leaders of the country and not of their communities alone.”
This is not to deny that the Muslim community suffers from illiteracy, unemployment, poverty, systemic discrimination and institutionalised prejudice. But there are other groups also which face similar, if not the same problems.
Muslims expect and get support from other social groups, including upper class, privileged Hindus. Other groups too expect, rightly, that the Muslim community speak on matters affecting them.
Despite periodic pogroms against Muslims, they still remain one of the biggest beneficiaries of democracy in India. Nowhere in the world has such a large population of Muslims enjoyed 68 years of uninterrupted democracy. It reflects the vision of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who was asked, after Partition, how he saw the future of Muslims in a divided India. Azad said they would thrive if democracy thrived.
However, Muslims do not seem to be participating in the process of strengthening democracy. They need to internalise the processes and norms of democracy. They must participate in major discourses in the country and stand up for the marginalised, whether they are LGBT, dalits, Sikhs, Christians, tribals, women or working classes.
Outrage over intolerance has been a major political development in the country. But seldom has a prominent Muslim organisation or community leader participated in programmes organised against it.
Muslims of India should keep in mind that the country is enveloped by a single political and moral ecology. We cannot survive outside this complex web of social concerns, struggles and relationships. Our national life is, and has got to be, run according to the lofty standards set by the Constitution.
We must take care to protect democracy and human rights. It’s only then that the Indian political ecology will be protected. That we have failed Rohith should always remind us not to fail other Indians.

అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ ఒవైసీకి నేను మనసారా కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పుకుంటున్నాను. శరీరంలో స్థిరపడి దానిని నయం చెయ్యాలని కూడా గ్రహించని, చెయ్యనక్కరలేదనిభావించిన అలసత్వానికి గుర్తుగా వికటించి బయటపడిన కేన్సర్‌ అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ ఒవైసీ. ఇప్పుడు బయటపడినా చికిత్సకి లొంగని చావుకి గుర్తు ఈ 'కేన్సర్‌'. అయితే అంత దయనీయమైన దశలో ఉన్నదా హిందూదేశం? హిందూమతం?మన మతానికి విస్తృతి ఎక్కువ. ఔదార్యం ఎక్కువ. జాలి ఎక్కువ. సంయమనం ఎక్కువ. అన్నిటికీ మించి అలసత్వం ఎక్కువ. బట్టల్లేని సీతమ్మనీ, నగ్నంగా నిలిపిన భరతమాతనీ చూసికూడాతన తల్లికి బట్టలు తొడిగిన ఎమ్‌.ఎఫ్‌.హుస్సేన్‌గారి కళాస్వేచ్ఛని నెత్తికెత్తుకునే కళాతృష్ణ మనది. 'మతం' గురించి ఎవరు మాట్లాడినా, దేవుడిని వెనకేసుకొచ్చినా'హిందుత్వ'మని కత్తులు దూసే సెక్యులర్‌ కవచాలు తొడుక్కున్న ఆత్మవంచన చేసుకునే అవకాశవాద పార్టీలున్న దేశం మనది. మనం నలుగురు ముస్లిం పెద్దల్ని రాష్ట్రపతుల్ని చేసుకున్నాం. ఇద్దరు ముస్లింలను ఉపరాష్ట్రపతుల్ని చేసుకుని గౌరవించుకున్నాం. మరే ముస్లిం దేశంలోనూ ఏ హిందువూ ఏ విధమయిన పదవిలోనూ నిలిచిన దాఖలాలు లేవు. నెదర్లాండులో తమ దేవుడిని వెక్కిరించే కార్టూన్లు వేస్తే ప్రపంచంలో అన్ని దేశాల్లోనూ ఆస్తులూ, ఇళ్లూ తగలెట్టారు. తమ దేవుడిని దూషించిన ముస్లిం రచయితనే చంపాలని మరో దేశపు మతగురువు శాసిస్తే -యిప్పటికీ సాల్మన్‌ రష్దీ రహస్యపు బతుకు బతుకుతున్నాడు. మనం చిత్రగుప్తుడిని, యముడినీ (రెండు 'యముడికి మొగుడు' సినీమాల్ని చూసి సంతోషించాం) శ్రీకృష్ణుడినీ,నారదుడినీ ఆటపట్టిస్తే ప్రేక్షకులు వందరోజులు చూసి ధన్యులవుతారు. బ్రాహ్మణ్యాన్నిగర్హించి -వాళ్ల చేత పేడ తినిపిస్తే -బ్రాహ్మణతరులు కిల కిల నవ్వుకుంటారు. ముస్లింలలో అలాంటిపరాచికాలు ఎప్పుడయినా ఎవరయినా చేసిన దాఖలాలు ఉన్నాయా? చేసి బతికి బట్టకట్టగలరా?ఈ దేశంలో ముస్లిం సోదరులంతా ఒకటి. ఎక్కడ ఉన్నా ఒకటిగా ఓటువేస్తారు. అయిదేళ్ల ఆడపిల్లకి బురఖా వేస్తారు. అరవైయ్యేళ్ల ముసలాయనా టోపీ పెడతారు. తమని కాదంటే పదేళ్ల పిల్లనీ కాల్చి చంపుతారు. మతం పట్ల గౌరవం, మరొక పక్క భయం - వారిని సంఘటిత పరుస్తుంది.మనదేశంలో మనం మహారాష్ట్రులం, తమిళులం, బెంగాళీలం, వెనుకబడిన వారం, ముందుబడినవారం, కులాలవారం, రెడ్లం, కమ్మవారం, కాపులం, బ్రాహ్మణులం, శ్రీవైష్ణవులం, శైవులం, మాలలం, మాదిగలం -మనం సామూహిక ప్రతిపత్తిని ఏనాడూ ప్రకటించుకోము. ఎవరూ ఎవరిమాటా వినరు. ఎవరి ప్రయోజనాలు వారివి. ఎవరయినా ఎప్పుడయినా ముస్లింలకు ప్రాతిపదిక మతం. మనకి? వ్యక్తిగత ప్రయోజనం, స్వలాభం, డబ్బు, పదవి, ఎదుటివాడి పతనం -మరేదో, మరేదో.హిందూదేశంలో ముస్లింల 'హజ్‌' యాత్రకి ప్రభుత్వం ఆర్థిక సహాయం చేస్తుంది. ప్రపంచంలోని 52 ముస్లిం దేశాలలో ఏ దేశంలోనూ ఈ ఉపకారం లేదు. శుభం. మరి భారతదేశంలో కాశీ, గయ, కేదార్‌, బదరీ, వైష్ణోదేవి యాత్రలకు మన ప్రభుత్వం ఆర్థిక సహాయం చెయ్యదేం? అడిగే నాధుడేడీ? వాళ్ల స్వార్దాలకే వ్యవధి చాలకపోయె. మన చిన్న పొట్టకు శ్రీరామరక్ష. మన కులానికి మేలు కలిగితే చాలు. మొన్న విశాఖపట్నంలో ఓ స్వామీజీని బహిరంగంగా కొట్టారు. కారణమేదయినా ఈ పనిని ఏదీ? ఒక 'ఇమామ్‌'కి దమ్ముంటే చేయమనండి. మనది భారతదేశం. పరాయి పెద్దని అవమానించమనడం ఉద్దేశం కాదు. మన మర్యాదకి నీడలేదని చెప్పడం ఉద్దేశం.అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ చేసిన ప్రసంగం ఏ హిందువయినా చేసి బతికి బట్టకట్టగలడా? ముస్లింలు మాట దేవుడెరుగు. ఔదార్యం కట్టలుతెంచుకునే మన సెక్యులర్‌ వీరులు 'హిందుత్వం' పేరిట గొంతుచించుకోరా?అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ అరాచకాన్ని ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్‌లోమరో ముస్లిం నాయకుడు సమర్థించారు! హిందూ దేశంలో ముస్లింల కిచ్చిన ప్రత్యేక స్థానం మరే ముస్లిం దేశంలోనయినా హిందువుల కిచ్చిన దాఖలాలు ఉన్నాయా? ఈ దేశంలో 15 శాతం మైనారిటీ వర్గాన్ని 85 శాతం మెజారిటీ వర్గం నెత్తిన పెట్టుకుంటోంది.కరుణానిధికి రామాయణం కట్టుకథ. ఆయన మన ముఖ్యమంత్రి. దేవుడిని నమ్మని, నమ్మకం లేదని బల్లగుద్దే ఏ ముస్లిమయినా ఏ ముస్లిం దేశంలో నయినా నాయకుడు కాగలడా?ఈ విచిత్రాన్ని ఎవరయినా గమనించారా? గాజాలో అరబ్బులు క్షేమంగా లేరు. పాకిస్తాన్‌లో వందలమంది ముస్లింలను వారే చంపుకుంటున్నారు. లిబియాలో, మొరాకోలో, ఆఫ్గనిస్థాన్‌లో, సిరియాలో, లెబనాన్‌లో, ఈజిప్టులో, ఇరాక్‌లో, యెమెన్‌లో ముస్లింలు హింసకు బలి అవుతున్నారు. ఆస్ట్రేలియాలో, ఇంగ్లండులో, ఫ్రాన్స్‌లో, ఇటలీలో, జర్మనీలో, స్వీడన్‌లో, అమెరికాలో, నార్వేలో వారు క్షేమంగా, హాయిగా ఉన్నారు. అయినా ఆ దేశాల్లో ముస్లింలు పై దేశాల్లో ముస్లింలుగా ఉండాలనుకుంటున్నారు.మహారాష్ట్రలో, ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్‌లో, బీహార్‌లో ముస్లింలు మైనారిటీలుగా రాయితీలు పొందుతున్నారు. శుభం, మరి ఈ దేశంలోనే జమ్ము కాశ్మీర్‌లో, మిజోరంలో, నాగాలాండ్‌లో, అరుణాచల్‌ప్రదేశ్‌లో, మేఘాలయలో మైనారిటీలయిన హిందువులకు ఆ రాయితీలు యివ్వడం లేదేం?ముస్లిం మత కార్యకలాపాలను, వారి వ్యవహారాలను చూసే వక్ఫ్‌బోర్డులున్నాయి.వాటి ఆదాయాన్ని ఈ దేశంలో ఎవరయినా ముట్టుకోగలరా? పదిమంది దర్శించే ప్రతి హిందూ దేవాలయ పరిపాలనా, ఆదాయం -రాజకీయ నాయకుల, వారి ప్రతినిధుల చేతుల్లోకి పోయిందేం?ఎవరయినా మనల్ని తిట్టినప్పుడు -మనం హిందువులం. ఎవరూ తిట్టనప్పుడు -మనల్ని మనమే తిట్టుకునే స్వదేశీయులం. అదీ మన ప్రతాపం.'మనవాళ్లు ఉత్త వెధవాయిలోయ్‌!' అన్నాడు గిరీశం. అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ వంటి పెద్దలు ''వీళ్లంతా ఉత్త వెధవాయిలోయ్‌!''అని నవ్వుకుని ఉంటారు. అందుకే రొమ్ము విరుచుకుని -ప్రేక్షకులు మురిసిపోయేలాగ -హిందూ దేశంలో హిందువుల్ని తిట్టి -తీరిగ్గా లండన్‌ వెళ్లి కూర్చున్నారు. ఇక్కడ మన వీరంగం చూసి -అక్కడ పేపర్లలో చదువుకుని నవ్వుకుంటూ ఉండి ఉంటారు.కులాల పేరిట, వర్గాల పేరిట -కిష్టిగాడు, రాములు వెధవ, సీతి,లచ్చి స్థాయికి మతాన్ని యీడ్చిన గౌరవనీయులైన హిందువులు -మొదట ఇల్లు చక్కబెట్టుకోవలసిన అవసరం ఎంతయినా ఉంది. తమలోఏ లోపాలున్నా 'మతం'- భేషరతుగా -నయానికో, భయానికో -తమకి గుర్తింపునీ, బలాన్నీ, సామూహిక ప్రతిపత్తినీ యివ్వగల శక్తి అని ముస్లింలు నమ్ముతున్నారు. మనం ఏనాడయినా -ఎవరో మనని దుయ్యబట్టిన యిలాంటి అరుదయిన సందర్భాల్లో ప్రథమ కోపాన్ని చూపడం తప్ప -యిలాంటి సంఘటిత శక్తిని ప్రదర్శించామా?అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ తప్పు చేశాడా? ఇప్పుడు క్రైస్తవ మతాన్ని సహాయం తెచ్చుకుంటాను. మీ మతాన్ని, మీ విలువల్ని, మీ విశ్వాసాల్ని, మీ ఆచారాల్ని గౌరవించే మొనగాడెవరయినా ఉంటేమొదటి రాయి వెయ్యండి.నా ఉద్దేశంలో అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ ప్రసంగం మేలుకొలుపు. పేడ తినే బ్రాహ్మణ్యం, యముడిని వెక్కిరించే సినిమాలూ, స్వజనాన్ని గౌరవించుకోలేని స్వార్థం, వేలంటీన్‌ వేలం వెర్రికి విర్రవీగే సామూహిక పైత్యం, దేవుడు, దేవాలయాలు 'హిందుత్వం' అని రాజకీయ ప్రయోజనాలకు గొంతు చించుకునే అవకాశవాద పార్టీలూ మతానికి విలువని పెంచవు. అక్బరుద్దీన్‌ వంటి వారి నోటికి బలి అవుతాయి. అంతకంటే భయంకరమైన విషయం ప్రేక్షకుల ప్రశంస అనే హెచ్చరిక.

ఇందులో కొత్తదనం ఏమాత్రం లేదు. మీరు ద్వేషించే పాకిస్తాన్ వంటి దేశాల అధమాధమ స్తితిగతులతోనే పోల్చుకుంటూ ఇక్కడ అలా లేదుకదా సంతోషించండంటూ దబాయించటమే ఆ సారాంశం. స్వేచ్చ ఒకడిచ్చే బిక్ష అనుకుంటే బతకటం మించిన దరిద్రపుగొట్టు పని మరొకటి లేదు. నలుగురు రాష్ట్రపతులు, ఇద్దరు ఉపరాష్ట్రపతులు అంటూ జనాభా లెక్కలుతీయటం దేనికి పెద్దాయనా? వాళ్ళు కూడా నీలా, నాలా ఈ మట్టి మీద పుట్టారనుకోలేకనే కదా ఏదో పెళ్ళికొచ్చినవాళ్ళని గౌరవించిన పద్దతిలో మాట్లాడటం? వాళ్ళకు ఆ స్థాయి లేకుండానే వచ్చిందా? ఎవరు రాష్ట్రపతి ఐనా ముందుగా హైందవంతో పరిఢవిల్లే భారతీయ సంస్కృతికి నమోవాకాలు చెప్పందే ఆ స్థాయికి వస్తారా? గుజరాత్ మారణకాండకి ఎక్స్చేంజ్ గానే కదా కేవలం అడ్మినిస్ట్రేటర్ అయ్యుండి ఒక్క కలం కూడా కనుక్కోని కలాం గారికి రాష్ట్రపతి పదవి వరించింది. (ఆయన ఏమీ కనుక్కోలేదంటే కొందరికి మనస్తాపం కలగొచ్చు. ఆయన సోమరాజు గారో మరెవరి తోనో చౌకగా లభ్యమయ్యే"కలాం స్టెంట్" కనుక్కున్నాడని చెబుతారు. అది ఎంత విఫలమైనా పేటెంట్ మాత్రం దక్కించుకున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం అది వాడకంలోనే లేదు. కానీ "కనుక్కున్న" ఘనత మాత్రం దక్కించుకున్నారు) ఆయన స్వాములు, సన్యాసులు దగ్గర మోకరిల్లబట్టే కదా ఆయన్ని భారతీయాత్మగా గుర్తించింది. మనముగ్గురు ఖానులు సూపర్ స్టార్లు. వాళ్ళు కూడా రమేష్, సురేష్ వంటి పాత్రలెయ్యబట్టేకదా స్టార్లయ్యారు. వాళ్ళు పోషించిందంతా హిందూ సెంటిమెంట్లే కదా. వాళ్ళ పెళ్ళాల పేర్లు చూసారా? గౌరి, కిరణ్లు. సల్మాన్ అయితే తన చెల్లి పెళ్ళి బ్రహ్మాణ్డంగా హైందవ పద్ధతిలోనే చేసాడు. తమ స్వీయ అస్తిత్వాన్ని నిలుపుకున్న ఏ మైనారిటీ మతస్తుడు ఉన్నతస్థాయికి పోలేడు. కానీ పాకిస్తాన్లోలా మన దేశంలో మైనారిటీ సంఖ్య ఏదో 1.6 శాతం కాదు. భారతదేశంలో అది సుమారు20 శాతం.ఇంక ప్రత్యేక రాయితీలు, ప్రతిపత్తిలు గురించి కూడా మీరెంతో మనస్తాపం చెందారు. తిరుపతి వెంకన్న దగ్గర, షిర్దీట్రస్ట్ దగ్గర ఉన్నదాని కంటే వక్ఫ్ బోర్డుల దగ్గరెక్కువుందా? మీరు వాళ్ళ ప్రయాణాలకిచ్చే రాయితీల గురించి బాధ పడుతున్నారు. తిరుపతి వెళ్ళాక కేవలం యాభై రూపాయిలకే కాటేజీలు దొరుకుతాయి. నిత్యాన్నదానాలుచేస్తారు. కేవలం 500 రూపాయిలకే అమర్నాధో మరే ఇతర ప్రాంతంలోనో హెలికాప్టర్ సౌకర్యం దొరుకుతుంది. వక్ఫ్ బోర్డు మీద ప్రభుత్వ నియంత్రణ లేదనుకోవటం అజ్ఞానం. బోలెడంత మంది స్వామీజీలు ఆశ్రమాల పేరుతో బాగానే వందల ఎకరాలు సంపాదించుకున్నారు. వేల కోట్ల రూపాయిల ఆస్థులున్న పుట్టపర్తి, బాల సాయిబాబా ఆశ్రమం మీద ప్రభుత్వ నియంత్రణ ఏమిటో చెప్పండి.ఒక ప్రాజెక్ట్ మొదలుపెడితే, ఒక ప్రభుత్వ భవంతి కడితే పాటించే ఆచారాలు హిందూ ఆచారాలు, హిందూ పూజలే కదా. అదంతా ప్రభుత్వ ఖర్చే కదా. సెక్రటేరియట్ నిండా బ్రహ్మకుమారీ సోదరీమణులు తెగ కనబడతారు. జగ్గీ బాబా గారితో చంద్రబాబు గారు శిక్షణలు ఇప్పించారు. ఇదంతా ప్రభుత్వ ఖర్చే. అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధనా ప్రయోగాల రాకెట్ మోడల్ని తిరుపతి వెంకన్న గారి పాదాల ముందు పెడతారు ముందుగా. షార్ కేంద్రంలోని గ్రామీణ దేవతకు కూడా పూజ చేస్తారు ముందుగా. ఇది సెక్యులరిజమా? నిజమే ఒకట్రెండు మైనారిటీ రాయితీలు మీకు పంటి కింద రాయిలా కలుక్కుమంటూంటాయి పాపం. మీ పంటి నొప్పికి నా సానుభూతి.అదృష్టవశాత్తు ముస్లీం మతంలో హైందవంలోలా అమానుష కులవిభజన జరిగి ఒక మనిషి మరో మనిషిని వివక్షగా చూసే పరిస్తితి లేదు. అయితే మతానికి ఉండే వెంకకబాటుతనమంతాఏ మతంలో అయినా ఉంటుంది ఖచ్చితంగా. అందులో ఆశ్చర్యం లేదు. మీరు మనం రకరకాల కులాలుగా విడిపోయామన్నారు. నిజమే కదా. మరి ఈ శిక్ష తప్పదు కదా మనకు? అయినా మీరు పొరబాటున ఒక నిజం కూడా చెప్పారు. వాళ్ళు భయం వల్ల కూడా ఒక్కటిగా ఉంటారన్నారు. భయం ఎందుకొచ్చింది? దేనివల్ల వచ్చింది?"అయిదేళ్ల ఆడపిల్లకి బురఖా వేస్తారు. అరవైయ్యేళ్ల ముసలాయనా టోపీ పెడతారు. తమని కాదంటే పదేళ్ల పిల్లనీ కాల్చి చంపుతారు." ఎంత గొప్పగా సెలవిస్తారు సర్ మీరు? మనదగ్గర బాల్య వివాహాలు లేవు. చిన్న పిల్లల మీద అత్యాచారాలు చేసి చంపేవారందరు హైందవేతరులే కదా? అది ఏ మతానికి చెందినవారైనా సరే, మతాల మధ్య పోటీ తీసుకొచ్చే మీలాంటి వాళ్ళ వల్లే సమస్యలు. మీ వ్యాసం మొత్తం మిగతా మతాలు, ముఖ్యంగా ఇస్లాం, ఎంత భయకరమైనవి అని చెప్పటానికి అనేక ఉదాహరణలు ఇచ్చారు. ఒక మతం దుర్మార్గంగా తయారుకావటానికి ఆ వ్యస్థలో ఉండే ఆర్ధిక సంబంధాలు, విద్యాస్థాయి, మానవసంబంధాలు చాలా ముఖ్యమైనవి. ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా ఇస్లాం దేశాలన్నీ ఒకే రకంగా లేవు. ఇండోనేషియా ఒక ఇస్లాం దేశం. రాజధాని జకర్తాలో నగరం నడిబొడ్డ్డున కృష్ణార్జునల పెద్ద విగ్రహం చూసాను. అక్కడ మాల్స్ కి రామామాల్, లక్ష్మణ మాల్ అన్న పేర్లు ఉంటాయి. వాళ్ళు హిందూ దేవతల్ని పూజించరు. కానీ గౌరవిస్తారు. మనకుందా ఆ స్థాయి? ముందు మీరు హిందువుగా మాట్లాడతారు. తరువాత కులాల ప్రస్థావన వచ్చినప్పుడు బ్రాహ్మణుడిగా మాట్లాడతారు. మీకెక్కడా మనుషుల్ని విభజించే భావజాలాల మీద ప్రేమ తగ్గదులెండి. ఎందుకంటే అది మీరు ఐడెంటిఫై అయ్యే వర్గానికి అత్యంత లాభసాటి.

London (AFP) - Muslim women who fail to learn English to a high enough standard could face deportation from Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron announced Monday.

He also suggested that poor English skills can leave people "more susceptible" to the messages of groups like Islamic State (IS).

Cameron's comments came as his centre-right Conservatives launched a £20 million ($28.5 million, 26 million euro) language fund for women in isolated communities as part of a drive to build community integration.

Immigration rules already force spouses to speak English before they come to Britain to live with their partners.

But Cameron said they would also face further tests after two and a half years in the country to make sure their language skills were improving.

"You can't guarantee you will be able to stay if you are not improving your language," he told BBC radio. "People coming to our country, they have responsibilities too."

Cameron's government estimates that around 190,000 Muslim women in England -- about 22 percent of the total -- speak little or no English.

There are estimated to be around 2.7 million Muslims in England out of a total population of some 53 million.

Cameron said that a lack of language skills could make Muslims in Britain more vulnerable to the message of extremist groups.

"I am not saying there is some sort of causal connection between not speaking English and becoming an extremist, of course not," he told BBC radio.

"But if you are not able to speak English, not able to integrate, you may find therefore you have challenges understanding what your identity is and therefore you could be more susceptible to the extremist message."

His comments drew criticism from Muslim groups and opposition parties.

Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, which campaigns for better community relations, accused Cameron of "disgraceful stereotyping".

"David Cameron and his Conservative government are once again using British Muslims as a political football to score cheap points, to appear tough," he added.

Andy Burnham, home affairs spokesman for the main opposition Labour party, accused Cameron of a "clumsy and simplistic approach" which was "unfairly stigmatising a whole community."

Ex-Conservative Party co-chair Sayeeda Warsi said her former boss's idea was "lazy and misguided" and a "stereotyping of British Muslim communities"

"My parents came to this country with very little English -- my mum's English still isn't great, even though she has been to English language classes," she told BBC Radio 4's World at One.

"I think it is lazy and sloppy when we start making policies based on stereotypes which do badly stigmatise communities."

Shuja Shafi, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, backed Cameron's call, but questioned his tactics.

"The prime minister's aim to have English more widely spoken and for better integration falls at the first hurdle if he is to link it to security and single out Muslim women to illustrate his point," he said.

“This will help make it clear to those men who stop their partners from integrating that there are consequences.”

The government will invest 20 million pounds ($28 million) in English classes for women in isolated communities, and from October, this year, will begin testing those who have come in to Britain on a spousal visa to check if their language skills have improved.

Cameron said while there was no direct causal link between poor English language skills and extremism, those who were not able to integrate into British society were at risk of being more susceptible to extremist ideologies.

“Separate development and accepting practices that go against our values only emphasise differences and can help prompt the search of something to belong to,” he wrote.

But his comments were criticised by Muslim groups, who said the British leader was “denigrating” Muslims rather than working with communities to help tackle extremism.

“The Prime Minister David Cameron and his Conservative government are once again using British Muslims as a political football to score cheap points to appear tough,” said Mohammed Shafiq, Chief Executive of the Ramadhan Foundation.

“Rather than focusing on the positive contribution of our faith and community he focuses on the extreme minority of issues which clearly is not representative.”

Latest Census data shows youth surge: Nearly 41% of India's population is below the age of 20

The latest census 2011 data released on Tuesday shows that around 41 percent of India's is below the age of 20 years. According to The Times of India, half the population is in the 20-59 age group while 9 percent is above the age of 60.

According to the data, Muslims in the country have the highest proportion of children and teenagers among all religions. While 47 percent of the children and teenagers are Muslims, 40 percent are Hindus and 29 percent are Jains, the report said.

The report also said that there are trends of declining proportion of children and increasing share of elderly across all religious communities.

In August last year, the census data on religion had shown that the Muslim community had registered a moderate 0.8 percent growth to touch 17.22 crore in the 10-year period between 2001 and 2011, up from 13.8 crore, while Hindu population had shown a decline by 0.7 percent at 96.63 crore during the period.

The data had also said that the Christian population is 2.78 crore (2.3 percent), Sikh 2.08 crore (1.7 percent), Buddhist 0.84 crore (0.7 percent), Jain 0.45 crore (0.4 percent), Other religions and persuasions (ORP) 0.79 crore (0.7 percent) and religion not stated 0.29 crore (0.2 percent).

As per 2001 census, India's total population was 102 crore, of which Hindu population comprised of 82.75 crore (80.45 percent) and Muslims were 13.8 crore (13.4 percent).

The growth rate of population in the decade 2001-2011 was 17.7 percent.

More alarming than the data on religious communities, however, was data on education. Census data released in November had revealed that only 4.5 percent of the population in the country is educated upto the level of graduate or above while a majority of 32.6 percent population is not even educated upto the primary school level.

During the decade 2001-11, improvement was observed at middle and above educational levels and decline in percentage share at lower levels (below-primary and primary).

The improvements at higher educational levels are indication of educational advancement in the country during the decade 2001-11.

As per census during last 10 years,
New Born Hindus = 13.88 crore
New Born Muslims = 3.42 crore

% of Muslims to Hindus in New Born Population = 24.63%
% of Muslims to Hindus in Overall Population = 17.82%

Is anything incorrect in these calculations?

Why does the "Gujarat Model" produce more babies than Kashmir?

Population growth is influenced by the number of children per woman and not by how many wives are allowed! Just look at the fertility rates on different states and their Muslim population:

Jammu & Kashmir (Muslim Pop: 68.3%) = 1.9.
Kerala (Muslim Pop: 26.6%) = 1.8.
West Bengal (Mulsim Pop: 27.0%) = 1.6.

Gujarat (Muslim Pop: 9.7%) = 2.3.

What is the reason for this government to release census data with only 
religion based statistics? Why not release the same data based on caste,
region, income and education?
Anyone who has even a basic 
understanding of statistics will know that "correlation is not 
causation". To evaluate whether certain trends are due to religion alone
or also influenced by other socioeconomic variables, the government 
must release all data.

No, Sir. Your link does not give caste or income based sorting for age or fertility.

All over the world,it is standard practice to co-relate life expectancy,
birth rates, education level and other quality of life indicators by 
class of income. In our country since class mostly with overlaps caste 
division, both are important.

The census organization releases data only selectively. I have never been able to get from census sources data on population growth, life expectancy or fertility figures sorted by income or caste. Only data by by religion is readily available.

Something about the numbers doesn't add up. 41 percent of population is 60 cr. 47 percent of that is abt 28 crore. That is more than total no of Muslims by 10cr as per article. Please get your numbers right
