Agra: To counter what they call “love jihad”, the Hindu Jagran Manch, an affiliate of the RSS, has decided to launch a “reverse love jihad” by setting a target of 2,100 Muslim brides for Hindu boys in the next six months.

Ajju Chauhan, president of the HJM, said, “The programme is a befitting reply to those who marry our women by faking their real identities. Love jihad has become a huge problem for the nation and this campaign would help us solve it.”
Maintaining that these marriages will be organised with proper Hindu rituals, Chauhan said, “Muslim women will not be forced to change their ‘puja paddhati’ (way of worship) or religion. However, if they want to convert to Hinduism, they would be welcome to do so.”

Chauhan said that security would be provided to these couples and it would be ensured that they are not troubled by either of the communities. Talking to TOI, he added, “Many members of our organisation are in touch with Muslim girls but were reluctant to marry them due to fear of retaliation from the community. We will organise their weddings with full security.”
The HJM chief said their campaign ‘Beti Bachao, Bahu Lao’ is the answer to “love jihad”. “The campaign would also in a way help resolve the issue of triple talaq as many Muslim women do not want to marry in their community,” he said.
HJM activists had last year distributed pamphlets outside UP schools, in which they gave “tips” to young girls to identify Muslim boys masquerading as Hindus.
