Dabi aced the exam in 2015 and Khan came second
Tina Dabi, 25, who stood first in the Indian Administrative Service exam in 2015, and Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan, 26, who came second, tied the knot at picturesque Pahalgam in south Kashmir this weekend.

Family members and close friends attended the ceremony.

Ms. Dabi from Delhi is considered an inspiration for Dalit youngsters, and Mr. Khan from Kashmir a motivational figure for the Valley’s youth. Both are in the Rajasthan cadre of the IAS.

A family friend told The Hindu that the two got married at a hotel in Pahalgam, 90 km south of Srinagar.

Mr. Khan, a resident of the south Kashmir village of Devipora in Mattan, organised a function at home for guests from Delhi.

In the traditional Kashmiri reception, the bride was driven to the groom’s house. Jammu and Kashmir Public Works Minister Naeem Akhtar greeted the couple. “Best wishes to Khan and Tina on their wedding. Be blessed and happy,” Mr. Akhtar wrote.

Ms. Dabi hit the headlines three years ago when she took to social media to announce her love for Mr. Khan.

The two are believed to have met at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie.

Mr. Khan is the second youth from Kashmir, after Shah Faesal, to have topped the IAS examination.
