Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has suspended several staff members at its Nashik office after allegations linked to a so-called “corporate jihad” came to light. The claims suggest that some Muslim employees allegedly harassed Hindu women colleagues. The employees, who have been arrested by police, pressured the staff to “eat beef and offer namaz” in return for salary hikes, while HR officials allegedly ignored complaints, as per reports. Those arrested include Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, Shah Rukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar and Danish Sheikh. Authorities believe the alleged incidents took place between February 2022 and March 2026.

According to reports, eight women employees said they faced harassment at the company’s Nashik workplace. Following this, the Maharashtra government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to carry out a detailed inquiry. The team will examine workplace policies, internal grievance procedures and the extent of the alleged misconduct.

Amid the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and religious coercion at Tata Consultancy Services’ Nashik BPO, a separate controversy involving Tech Mahindra has surfaced online, with social media posts claiming religious bias at one of its offices. “Received a concerning message from an employee at a Tech Mahindra BPO in Goregaon, alleging biased hiring practices, unequal workplace policies, and religious favouritism during festivals,” Dubey wrote while sharing the message on X, formerly Twitter.

He added that if the allegations were true, they would raise serious questions about corporate neutrality and workplace fairness, urging authorities and company leadership to examine the matter.

According to the screenshot shared by Dubey, the message claimed that Muslim employees were given “total freedom” during Ramadan, including the organisation of daily iftar gatherings in the canteen. The person claimed that they feel that they are “working in mini Pakistan”. 

“I work in tech Mahindra in Goregaon IT park....in the process Rogers telecom.........here at the moment more than 60% employees are Muslim boys......I have joined this company 4 months back. I have seen here that all the Muslim boys are having Hindu girlfriends. I feel very uncomfortable working here. For Muslims they don't have any corporate policies here. Muslim girls are allowed to wear burkhas and Nakabs here. We don't even know who are those girls. There is a Muslim Hr by the name Gulam ghous.....he is the reason for hiring all Muslim boys......during there festivals like Ramzan he gives total freedom to Muslim employees....they have iftar parties daily during that month with all the Muslim employees gathering in the canteen. I feel like working in a mini Pakistan over here......please do something if possible.......let Mr. Anand Mahindra knows about this [sic],” the message read. 

Dubey later shared another post stating that he had received an Instagram direct message from a woman who claimed to work at Tech Mahindra. According to the message, the office pantry had allegedly been declared a “footwear-free zone” during Ramadan to allow employees to offer prayers and break their fast.

The post also included photos of a notice reportedly placed in the pantry area. The notice read, “We kindly request everyone to refrain from entering the pantry with footwear until the end of Ramadan. This space is currently being respectfully used for prayers and breaking of fasts.”

It further stated, “Let's come together in the spirit of unity and extend our support to our colleagues during this special time. Your cooperation and understanding will mean a lot. Thank you for helping us maintain the sanctity of this space.”

Dubey also shared screenshots of individuals responding to his post, claiming that the notice he shared was genuine.

Tech Mahindra’s Response

In response, a spokesperson for Tech Mahindra denied the allegations and described the claims circulating on social media as “unfounded”, reported Firstpost.

“This is with reference to recent social media posts alleging religious bias within Tech Mahindra. We take such concerns seriously and conducted an internal review, which found these claims to be inaccurate and unfounded. We confirm that the image titled ‘footwear free zone’ is not from any of our offices, and the anonymous post regarding hiring practices is false,” the statement, according to Firstpost, read.

The company added that it remains committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace.

“ఇశ్రాయేలూ వినుము; నీకంటె గొప్ప బలముగల జనములను ఆకాశమంటు ప్రాకారములు గల గొప్ప పట్టణములను స్వాధీనపరచుకొనుటకై నేడు నీవు యొర్దానును దాటబోవుచున్నావు (ద్వితియోపదేశకాండము 9:3)”… అన్న వాక్యాన్ని ఆ ప్రాంతంలో నివశిస్తున్న అమాలేకీయుల తరిమివేసి ఆ ప్రాంతాన్ని ఆక్రమించుకోవాల్సిందిగా యూదులకు ఆజ్ఞాపించటం జరిగిందని తెలుస్తుంది. అదే ద్వితియోపదేశకాండము 9 వ అధ్యాయంలోని మరో రెండు ముఖ్యమైన వాక్యాలు గమనించగలరు...

“ఆ ప్రజలు గొప్పవారు ఉన్నత దేహులు, వారు నీవు ఎరిగిన అనాకీయుల వంశ స్థులు. అనాకీయుల యెదుట ఎవరు నిలువగలరు అను మాట నీవు వింటివి గదా (9:1)..

నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీ యెదుట నుండి వారిని తోలి వేసిన తరువాత నేను ఈ దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొనునట్లుగా యెహోవా నా నీతినిబట్టి నన్ను ప్రవేశ పెట్టెనని అనుకొనవద్దు. ఈ జనముల చెడుతనమును బట్టియే యెహోవా నీ యెదుట నుండి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టుచున్నాడు (9:2)”

పై రెండు వాక్యాలను బట్టి పాలస్తీనా భూభాగాన్ని దేవుడైన యెహోవా యూదులకు ఇవ్వటానికి గల కారణం యూదులకు ఏదో ప్రత్యేకత ఉండటమో, లేక వారంటే ప్రత్యేక ప్రేమో కాదు. కానీ, అంతకు ముందు నుండీ ఆ భూభాగంలో నివసిస్తున్న అనాకీయుల చెడు ప్రవర్తనే కారణం అని తెలుస్తుంది.

ఇక్కడ ఆ భూభాగం యూదులకు ఇచ్చింది స్వయంగా యెహోవా, అది కూడా వారు మంచి నడవడిక కలిగి ఉన్నంత వరకే అక్కడ నివసిస్తారన్న “షరతు”పై “తాత్కాలికం (Temporary)” గా మాత్రమే ఇవ్వటం జరిగింది! తప్ప శాశ్వతంగా వారికి ఆ భూభాగం రాసి ఇవ్వటం అన్నది జరగలేదని బైబిలే చెబుతుంది.

వాస్తవం ఇదైనప్పుడు క్రైస్తవులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తిరిగి తమ స్వంత భూభాగాన్ని స్వాధీన పరచుకుంటారని, రాజ్యం స్థాపిస్తారని కన్నీటి ప్రార్ధనలు చెయ్యటంలో అర్థమే లేదు.

బైబిల్లో చెప్పబడినట్టే యేసు అనంతరం బాబిలోనియన్ల ద్వారా యూదులు నాశనం కాబడ్డారు, వారు శపించబడినట్టే ఆ భూభాగం నుండి బయటకు పంపబడ్డారు. ఆ తరువాత వారు అనేక దేశాల్లో చెదిరిపోయారు. హిట్లర్, అడాల్ఫ్ ఐష్ మన్ లాంటి నాజీ అధికారుల చేతుల్లో లక్షల సంఖ్యలో చంపబడ్డారు. చివరకు 1930 లో తలదాచుకోటానికి పాలస్తీనా భూభాగంలో అక్కడ నివశిస్తున్న అరబ్ ముస్లిములను బ్రతిమాలుకుని అక్కడ తమ నివాసాలు ఏర్పర్చుకున్నారు.

ఇక పాలస్తీనాను అరబ్ ముస్లిములు సైతం బలవంతంగా దురాక్రమణ చెయ్యలేదు. క్రీ.శ 637 తరువాత యూరుషలెమ్ స్థానిక క్రైస్తవులే అప్పటికే ఉన్న బైజాంటిన్ ప్రభుత్వానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా హజ్రత్ ఉమర్ (రజి) వారి పాలన కోరుకున్నారు. బైజాంటిన్ ప్రభుత్వ ప్రతినిధి అయిన పాట్రియాక్ సోప్రోనియన్ మరియు హజ్రత్ ఉమర్ (రజి) మధ్య జరిగిన శాంతి ఒప్పందాల తరువాత పాలస్తీనా భూభాగంలో ముస్లిములు నివాసాలు ఏర్పర్చుకోవటం మొదలెట్టారు.

పాతిక రోజుల తర్వాత.. హోర్ముజ్ జలసంధి ఇంకా తెరుచుకోలేదు. ప్రపంచ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ ప్రమాదం అంచున నిలబడింది. 1970లలో వచ్చిన రెండు చమురు సంక్షోభాల కంటే ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితి దారుణంగా ఉందని అంతర్జాతీయ ఇంధన సంస్థ ప్రకటించింది. ఇరాన్ నౌకాదళం నాశనమైనా, నాయకులు హతమైనా, అణుకేంద్రాలపై మూడుసార్లు దాడులు జరిగినా.. ఆ దేశం ఇంకా పాలన సాగిస్తోంది, పోరాడుతోంది. ఇప్పటికీ అంతర్జాతీయ చర్చల్లో తన నిబంధనలనే విధిస్తోంది.

మార్చి 22న ట్రంప్– ‘48 గంటల్లోగా హోర్ముజ్ జలసంధిని తెరవకపోతే, ఇరాన్‌లోని పవర్ ప్లాంట్లను నాశనం చేస్తాం’ అని తన ‘ట్రూత్ సోషల్’ వేదికగా ఒక వార్నింగ్ ఇచ్చారు. దీనికి ఇరాన్– ‘పర్షియన్ గల్ఫ్ మొత్తం మందుపాతరలతో నింపేస్తామని, చమురు కేంద్రాలన్నింటినీ ధ్వంసం చేస్తామ’ని గట్టిగా బదులిచ్చింది. తను ఇచ్చిన గడువు ముగియడానికి మరో 12 గంటలు ఉందనగా.. అమెరికా, ఇరాన్ మధ్య ‘చాలా మంచి, ఉపయోగకరమైన చర్చలు జరిగాయని’, అందుకే దాడులను ఐదురోజులు వాయిదా వేస్తున్నానని ట్రంప్ ప్రకటించారు. ఒక మహాసామ్రాజ్యం క్షిపణులను ప్రయోగించింది. ఒక పురాతన నాగరికత ఆ దాష్టీకాన్ని తట్టుకొని నిలబడింది. ఇది ఏడువేల ఏళ్ల చరిత్ర వర్సెస్ రెండువందల ఏళ్ల అధికారం!

ఇరాన్ పీఠభూమిలో 7,000 ఏళ్ల నుంచే మానవ ఆవాసం ఉంది. క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 3200 నాటికే అక్కడ ఒక గొప్ప నాగరికత విలసిల్లింది. క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 6వ శతాబ్దంలో ‘సైరస్ ది గ్రేట్’ పాలనలో పర్షియన్ సామ్రాజ్యం ప్రపంచంలోనే అతిపెద్ద శక్తిగా ఎదిగింది. గ్రీస్, ఈజిప్ట్, టర్కీ, ఇరాక్ నుంచి మన పక్కనే ఉన్న పాకిస్థాన్ వరకు అది విస్తరించింది. క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 539లో, యుద్ధం లేకుండానే బాబిలోన్‌ను సైరస్ జయించారు. అక్కడి ప్రజలే కోట తలుపులు తెరిచి ఆయనకు స్వాగతం పలికారు. ఆ సమయంలో సైరస్ తన ఆజ్ఞను ఒక స్తూపంపై రాయించారు. ప్రస్తుతం బ్రిటిష్ మ్యూజియంలో ఉన్న ఆ స్తూపాన్ని, 1971లో ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి ప్రపంచంలోనే మొదటి మానవ హక్కుల ప్రకటనగా గుర్తించింది. ఆ సైరస్ స్తూపం ప్రకారం.. ఆయన బానిసలందరికీ విముక్తిని, మతస్వేచ్ఛను, సమానత్వాన్ని ప్రసాదించారు. హీబ్రూ బైబిల్‌లో యూదుడు కాని వ్యక్తిని ‘మెస్సయ్య’ (దేవునిచే ఎన్నుకోబడినవాడు) అని పిలిచారంటే అది కేవలం సైరస్‌ను మాత్రమే.

సైరస్ చక్రవర్తి మానవ హక్కుల పత్రాన్ని ప్రకటించిన 2,315 ఏళ్ల తర్వాత (1776లో) పుట్టిన అమెరికా.. ఇప్పుడు అదే నాగరికతను గగనతలం నుంచి నామరూపాలు లేకుండా చేయాలని చూస్తోంది. సైరస్ పత్రం వెలువడిన 2,487 ఏళ్ల తర్వాత (1948లో) ఏర్పడిన ఇజ్రాయెల్.. తన భద్రత పేరుతో ఆ నాగరికతను లొంగ దీసుకోవాలని ప్రయత్నిస్తోంది. పాతికరోజుల పాటు సాగిన ఈ వైమానిక దాడులు ఇరాన్‌ సుదీర్ఘచరిత్రలో ఒక చేదు అధ్యాయం మాత్రమే. కానీ, అమెరికాకు మాత్రం ఇలాంటి యుద్ధం ఊహకందని విషయం.

క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 330లో అలెగ్జాండర్ ‘పెర్సెపోలిస్’ నగరాన్ని తగులబెట్టాడు. 13వ శతాబ్దంలో మంగోలులు ఇరాన్ నగరాలపై విరుచుకుపడి, కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో ముప్పావు వంతు జనాభాను ఊచకోత కోశారు. ఇక 1953లో బ్రిటన్ కుట్ర పన్ని, ప్రజాస్వామ్యబద్ధంగా ఎన్నికైన ప్రధాని మొహమ్మద్ మొసాద్దెగ్‌ను గద్దె దించింది. 1980లో అమెరికా అందించిన ఆయుధాలతో ఇరాక్.. ఇరాన్‌పై ఎనిమిదేళ్ల పాటు సాగించిన యుద్ధంలో లక్షలాది మంది ఇరానీయులు బలయ్యారు. అయినా సరే, ఇరాన్ ఇంకా ఉంది. పర్షియా ఎప్పుడూ ఇక్కడే ఉంది.

ఇప్పుడు బాంబుల దాడికి గురవుతున్నది అవిసెన్నా (ఇబ్న్ సీనా) వంటి మహనీయుల నాగరికత. ఆయన రాసిన ‘కానన్ ఆఫ్ మెడిసిన్’ గ్రంథం ఆరు శతాబ్దాల పాటు యూరప్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో ప్రధాన వైద్య పాఠ్యపుస్తకంగా ఉండేది. ఇది అల్–బిరూని నాగరికత. ఆయన వెయ్యేళ్ల క్రితమే భూమి చుట్టుకొలతను కేవలం ఒక శాతం తేడాతో కచ్చితంగా లెక్కించారు. యూరప్‌లో పుస్తకాలు తగులబెడుతున్న కాలంలోనే, బీజగణితంలో క్యూబిక్ ఈక్వేషన్స్‌కు పరిష్కారాలు చూపిన ఖయ్యామ్ నాగరికత ఇది. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా కోట్లాది మంది ఇష్టపడే హఫీజ్, రూమీల కవిత్వం పుట్టిన గడ్డ ఇది. టెహ్రాన్‌పై బాంబులు పడుతున్నాయంటే, ఆ గొప్ప వారసత్వాన్ని మోస్తున్న నగరంపై పడుతున్నాయని అర్థం. అటువంటి లోతైన వారసత్వం వైమానిక దాడులతో అంతమైపోదు. ఇలాంటి దాడులు ఆ పాత పౌరుషాన్ని మరింతగా తట్టి లేపుతాయి.

ఫిబ్రవరి 28, 2026న మొదటి ‘టోమాహాక్’ క్షిపణి ప్రయోగించడానికి ముందే, ఇరాన్ దాదాపు అర్ధ శతాబ్దకాలంగా మనుగడకోసం పోరాడుతూనే ఉంది. అమెరికా మొదటిసారిగా 1979 నవంబర్‌లో ఇరాన్‌పై ఆంక్షలు విధించింది. అమెరికా అధ్యక్షులు మారారు తప్ప ఇరాన్‌పై ఆంక్షలు ఎప్పుడూ తొలగలేదు, పైగా పెరుగుతూనే వచ్చాయి. అవి ఇరాన్‌ను మరింతగా రాటుదేల్చాయి. ఇరాన్ విడిభాగాలను దిగుమతి చేసుకోలేకపోయింది కాబట్టి, వాటిని సొంతంగా తయారు చేయడం నేర్చుకుంది. పాశ్చాత్య సాంకేతికత దొరకలేదు కాబట్టి, దాన్ని ‘రివర్స్–ఇంజనీరింగ్’ చేసింది. అత్యాధునిక ఆయుధాలను కొనలేకపోయింది కాబట్టి, తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో, భారీ స్థాయిలో వినూత్న ఆయుధాలను అభివృద్ధి చేసింది. అమెరికా విధించిన కఠినమైన ఆంక్షల నుంచే ‘షాహెద్–136’ సూసైడ్ డ్రోన్ పుట్టింది. ఒంటరిని చేసిన పరిస్థితుల్లో, అవసరం నేర్పిన తెలివితేటలకు ఈ డ్రోన్ ఒక నిదర్శనం.

ఇరాన్‌ను ఆర్థికంగా దెబ్బతీసి, సైనికపరంగా బలహీనపరచాలని అమెరికా యాభై ఏళ్ల పాటు ప్రయత్నించింది. కానీ, ఫలితం మరోలా వచ్చింది. అమెరికా వద్ద ఉన్న ‘ఇంటర్సెప్టర్’ (క్షిపణి నిరోధక) నిల్వలను ఖాళీ చేసే స్థాయి ఆయుధాన్ని ఇరాన్ తయారు చేసుకుంది. ఆ నిల్వలను తిరిగి నింపే వేగం భూమి మీద ఏ ఫ్యాక్టరీకి కూడా లేదు. అమెరికాకు చెందిన పేట్రియాట్ ఇంటర్‌సెప్టర్ క్షిపణి ఖరీదు సుమారు 4 మిలియన్ డాలర్లు. ఇరాన్‌కు షాహెద్–136 డ్రోన్ తయారీ ఖరీదు 30 వేల డాలర్లు మాత్రమే. లాక్‌హీడ్ మార్టిన్ సంస్థ ఏడాదికి సుమారు 600 పేట్రియాట్ ఇంటర్‌సెప్టర్లను మాత్రమే తయారు చేయగలదు. కానీ ఇరాన్ ఈ యుద్ధం మొదలైన మొదటి వారంలోనే 2,000 కంటే ఎక్కువ డ్రోన్లను ప్రయోగించింది. 2025లో ఇరాన్ మొత్తం రక్షణ బడ్జెట్ సుమారు 23 బిలియన్ డాలర్లు. ఇది అమెరికా రక్షణ బడ్జెట్ 900 బిలియన్ డాలర్లలో కేవలం 2.5 శాతం!

హోర్ముజ్ జలసంధి అత్యంత ఇరుకైన చోట 33 కిలోమీటర్ల వెడల్పు మాత్రమే ఉంటుంది. కానీ, దీని ద్వారా ప్రతిరోజూ సుమారు 2.1 కోట్ల బ్యారెళ్ల ముడి చమురు, ద్రవీకృత సహజ వాయువు (LNG) రవాణా అవుతాయి. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా జరిగే LNG వ్యాపారంలో నాలుగోవంతు ఇక్కడి నుంచే వెళ్తుంది. ఇప్పుడు ఇరాన్ దీనిని మూసివేసింది. ‘1970లలో వచ్చిన రెండు చమురు సంక్షోభాలు, ఇటీవలి ఉక్రెయిన్ యుద్ధం వల్ల కలిగిన నష్టాలను కలిపినా.. ప్రస్తుత సంక్షోభం అంతకంటే దారుణంగా ఉంది’ అన్నారు అంతర్జాతీయ ఇంధన సంస్థ డైరెక్టర్‌. ఫిబ్రవరి 28 నుంచి ఇప్పటివరకు తొమ్మిది దేశాల్లోని కనీసం 45 ఇంధన కేంద్రాలు తీవ్రంగా దెబ్బతిన్నాయి. ఇక, గల్ఫ్ దేశాలన్నీ ఉప్పునీటిని మంచి నీరుగా మార్చే (డీశాలినేషన్‌) వ్యవస్థలమీద ఆధారపడే జీవిస్తున్నాయి. గల్ఫ్ దేశాలకు అందే తాగు నీటిలో 90శాతం కేవలం 56 భారీ ప్లాంట్ల నుంచే వస్తున్నది. మార్చి 7న, బహ్రెయిన్‌లోని ఒక ప్లాంట్‌పై డ్రోన్ దాడి జరిగింది. గల్ఫ్ నీటి మౌలిక సదుపాయాలపై జరిగిన మొదటి దాడి ఇదే. దీనిపై ఇరాన్ విదేశాంగమంత్రి అబ్బాస్ అరాఘ్చీ ఇలా అన్నారు: ‘ఇరాన్ మౌలిక సదుపాయాలపై దాడి చేయడం చాలా ప్రమాదకరమైన చర్య, దీని పరిణామాలు తీవ్రంగా ఉంటాయి. ఈ పద్ధతిని మొదలుపెట్టింది అమెరికాయే, ఇరాన్ కాదు.’ డీశాలినేషన్‌ ప్లాంట్లపై దాడులు చేయడం ఇరాన్‌ సైనిక విధానంలో భాగమైనపక్షంలో అది కచ్చితంగా ఆందోళనకరమైన విషయం, ఎందుకంటే గల్ఫ్ దేశాల వద్ద కేవలం కొన్ని వారాలకు సరిపడా నీటి నిల్వలు మాత్రమే ఉన్నాయి.

ఇరవైఐదు రోజుల తర్వాత కూడా ఇరాన్ ప్రభుత్వం నడుస్తోంది. పాలన సాగిస్తూనే ఉంది. ఒక నాయకుడిని చంపగానే ముక్కలయ్యే పేకమేడ కాదు అది. ఇదొక మాట్రిక్స్‌. ఎటునుంచైనా తట్టుకోగలిగే ఒక పటిష్ఠ వ్యవస్థ. పాత నాయకుల కంటే అమెరికాపై ఇంకా ఎక్కువ కసి, ద్వేషం ఉన్న రెండోతరం నాయకులు వేదికపైకి వస్తున్నారు. అమెరికాను దెబ్బకొట్టడం కోసం ఎంతటి నష్టానికైనా సిద్ధపడే ప్రమాదకరమైన నాయకత్వం ఇది. ఒక దేశం యొక్క సైనికశక్తి, ఆర్థిక బలాన్ని పాశ్చాత్య దేశాలు అంచనా వేయగలవు. కానీ ఆ దేశం యొక్క ‘విశ్వాసం’ యుద్ధ గమనాన్ని ఎలా మారుస్తుందో అవి ఊహించలేవు. షియా ఇస్లాం పునాది కథే కర్బలా యుద్ధం (అక్టోబర్ 10, క్రీ.శ. 680). మహమ్మద్ ప్రవక్త మనవడు హుస్సేన్ ఇబ్న్ అలీ, అన్యాయమైన అధికారానికి లొంగిపోవడం కంటే చావునే మిన్నగా ఎంచుకున్నారు. షియా క్యాలెండర్‌లో ఆ రోజే ఆషురా–అధికార గర్వం కంటే నమ్మిన సిద్ధాంతమే గొప్పదని చాటిచెప్పే రోజది. ఒక యుద్ధానికి స్పష్టమైన విజయ లక్ష్యం లేనప్పుడు, ఆ యుద్ధం మొదలవ్వకముందే ఓడిపోయినట్టు లెక్క. ఈ యుద్ధం కేవలం ఇరాన్ గురించి మాత్రమే కాదు. అమెరికా సైనికశక్తితో నడుస్తున్న ప్రస్తుత ప్రపంచంలో, పాశ్చాత్యేతర దేశాలన్నీ తమ వ్యూహాలను ఎలా మార్చుకోవాలో ఇరాన్ దారిచూపుతోంది.

New Delhi: Opposition parties have slammed the demolition of statues of freedom fighters Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan and Roshan Singh in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur during beautification work. The Congress on Tuesday (March 24) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government along with the local administration of insulting the sentiments of the public, reported The Hindu.

The Congress has also threatened to hold a mass protest if strict action is not initiated against responsible officials. The statues of the three freedom fighters, who hailed from Shahjahanpur, were installed at the Shaheed memorial site along a road outside the municipal corporation office and were allegedly demolished on Sunday (March 22, 2026) night.

Subsequently a video was posted on social media which showed the statues being razed and their debris dumped at a garbage site was posted on social media.

“India will not tolerate the insult to the martyrs. This is very shameful. On the martyrdom land of Shahjahanpur, on the very day of Martyrs’ Day, the Municipal Corporation of the BJP government ran a bulldozer on the statues of great martyrs like Pandit Ramprasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Thakur Roshan Singh. This is not just an insult to the statues, but an insult to the sentiments of every brave man who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country and of 145 crore Indians,” said Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai, reported The Hindu.

“The Yogi government should immediately take strict action against the responsible officers. If justice is not done, then every Congress worker will come out on the streets and strongly protest against this dictatorship,” said Ajay Rai, Uttar Pradesh Congress president,” he added.

Press Trust of India reported that following the incident, the Shahjahanpur Police lodged an FIR against the company that had undertaken the road beautification work. The FIR has been lodged under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 196(2) (promoting enmity affecting harmony at religious places) and 352 (intentional insult).

According to superintendent of police Rajesh Dwivedi, the municipal corporation’s chief engineer lodged a complaint at Sadar Bazar police station.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav too slammed the state government over the incident.

“Beauty can never be greater than the honour and respect of the martyrs. Running a bulldozer over the statues of martyrs in Shahjahanpur under the pretext of beautification is a sign of a sick mentality. How can those who inform the British know the value of martyrdom? Highly condemnable!” Yadav wrote in Hindi on X.

దేశ చరిత్ర, స్వాతంత్య్ర ఉద్యమంలో ముస్లిం పాలకులు, సాంస్కృతిక ప్రముఖులు, అధికారులు గణనీయ పాత్ర పోషించారన్నారు. ఇందుకు సంబంధించి చరిత్రలోని ఉదాహరణను ఆయన చెప్పారు. అజీముల్లా ఖాన్‌ అనే ముస్లిం తొలుత భారత్‌ మాతా కీ జై అనే నినాదం చేశారని గుర్తు చేశారు. ”ఇక్కడకు వచ్చిన సంఘ పరివార్‌ నేతలు తమ ముందు కూర్చున్నవారిని చూసి భారత్‌ మాతా కీ జై అని నినదించమంటున్నారు. అసలు ఎవరు ఈ నినాదం ఇచ్చారు? 

ఈ నినాదం మొదట చేసింది ముస్లిం అని, ఆ వ్యక్తి పేరు అజీముల్లా ఖాన్‌ అని సంఘ పరివార్‌కు తెలుసో లేదో నాకు తెలియదు.” అని విజయన్‌ వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. ముస్లిం అని తెలిస్తే వారు ఈ నినాదం చేయడం ఆపేస్తారేమో మరి అది కూడా తెలియదని అన్నారు.

పౌరసత్వ సవరణ చట్టం (సీఏఏ)ను వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ సీపీఐ(ఎం) నిర్వహిస్తున్న ర్యాలీల్లో భాగంగా సోమవారం నిర్వహించిన నాల్గవ ర్యాలీలో ఆయన మాట్లాడారు.

 ప్రాచీన దౌత్యవేత్త అబిద్‌ హసన్‌ అనే వ్యక్తి తొలుత జై హింద్‌ అనే నినాదం చేశారన్నారు.మొఘల్‌ పాలకుడు షాజహాన్‌ కుమారుడు దారా షికా సంస్కృతంలో నుంచి పర్షియన్‌ భాషలోనికి 50 ఉపనిషత్‌లను అనువాదం చేశారని,ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా వాటిని అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చేందుకు కృషి చేశారని విజయన్‌ పేర్కొన్నారు. 

ముస్లింలు భారత్‌ నుంచి పాకిస్తాన్‌కు వెళ్ళిపోవాలని వాదిస్తున్న సంఘ పరివార్‌ నేతలు, కార్యకర్తలందరూ ఈ చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం గురించి తెలుసుకోవాలన్నారు. ఇతరులందరితో కలిసి ముస్లింలు కూడా ఈ దేశ స్వాతంత్య్రోద్యమంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారని గుర్తు చేశారు.

Protests: Members of the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged demonstrations under the Uttam Nagar East Metro Station, during which a car and a motorcycle were set on fire and a major road was blocked. Residents also held a peaceful candle march to demand justice.

VHP Demands: The VHP condemned the incident, demanding strict punishment for all involved, including the alleged main conspirator. The organization also called for action against religious leaders accused of inciting violence and a ban on madrasas, which they described as "promoters of extremism".

Political Response: The VHP criticized political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for their alleged silence on the killing, particularly noting that many victims of such incidents come from Scheduled Caste communities.
